Industry Forum courses recognised by the Aero Engineer Supplier Quality strategy group

The vision of the Aero Engine Supplier Quality (AESQ) strategy group is to establish and maintain a common set of Quality Requirements that enable the Global Aero Engine Supply Chain to be truly competitive through lean, capable processes and a culture of Continuous Improvement.

Industry Forum is delighted that the AESQ strategy group has recognised that three of our courses meet the requirements of their AS1300x standards series and have been referenced from their website

The three related standards are:

New Product Introduction for Launch Excellence

When you launch manufacture of a new product do you achieve volume production that is right first time every time, on time in full, at the right cost? Most aerospace companies struggle to launch and ramp up new product manufacture successfully. Industry Forum has worked with over 50 companies during the last five years to help them improve their New Product Introduction (NPI) approaches to deliver Launch Excellence.

At the Farnborough International Airshow ‘FINN’ sessions in July, Industry Forum will be explaining its NPI for Launch Excellence model to help companies understand the pillars that need to be in place to assure success and how the elements within the new AS9145 APQP and PPAP standard support them.

AS9145 APQP and PPAP training courses

Have you heard about the new AS9145 standard? Do you know it’s coming your way but don’t yet need to understand it or have the skills to implement it effectively?

The new AS9145 standard aims to embed Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) best practice within an organisation’s New Product Introduction process. PPAP has already been a supplier requirement for major customers such as Rolls-Royce Aerospace and UTC group for a number of years. This new standard provides a unified approach to enable consistent application of the core elements for any customer and aligned has already set as a requirement by Rolls-Royce within their Sabre3 standard. Industry Forum has developed two courses that will guide your organisation to understand the standard and upskill key individuals to implement it, enabling you to maximise competitive performance through its implementation.

Our two day AS9145 Essentials course is designed to provide delegates with an awareness of the advantages and expected benefits of using the APQP and PPAP processes from planning, product design and development through to process design, validation and on-going production.

The Five day AS9145 Practitioner course will provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of the APQP and PPAP processes together with the key support tools used to validate ability to manufacture product that meets the design intent at the required production rate.

Free Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Checklist

Does your S&OP process drive perfect delivery? For many years aerospace companies have focused on improving the manufacturing process with limited attention to the planning and scheduling process that drives it. There is increasing realisation that without effective planning to balance demand and capacity, we will fail to meet customer delivery requirements and that success is driven from the foundations of a robust S&OP process.

Industry Forum is regularly asked what a good S&OP process should look like. We have developed a simple, free checklist that you can download here to self-assess your process.
