Manufacturing Manager Training (MMT)

Overview: 

The Manufacturing Manager Training programme is aimed for practising or aspiring managers within a manufacturing operations environment. This is an intense and advanced level of management training to support the development of their knowledge and skills to manage operational activities.

This programme has been designed in accordance with and influenced by a study conducted by the Automotive Industry Partnership, that analysed all job roles and identified critical skills and responsibilities for each position. 

The Manufacturing Manager Training programme will provide in-depth knowledge in managing operational activities and develop leadership skill required to become a Transformational Leader through a blended learning approach comprising of:

  • A suite of teach-point modules for essential knowledge to daily management and driving continuous improvement culture
  • Develop interpersonal skills to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver on goals and objectives
  • Improve professional management skills such as how to give instruction, direction and guidance to supervisors / cell leaders
  • Conflict resolution within the team and departmental levels
  • Skills and behaviour to drive business activities and establish effective methods of sustainability 
  • Professional reporting and escalating issue including managing stakeholders expectation

  • Develop coaching skills and managing team dynamics and delegation capability


Customer Case Study: 

Liberty Vehicle Group; comprising of multiple sites across the UK, Olympus Engineering, Expert Tooling and Benteler started with the fundamental Team Leader Essentials programme, which was exceptionally successful, and lay the foundation to culture change within the group. Following from the initial success it was identified that they required a programme for the personnel progressing to the next level of management, specifically designed for middle management, to ensure those individuals had the tools, techniques and understanding to not only manage manufacturing supervisors but to also give strategic guidance and facilitate change with their departments

 

Who should attend: 

This 4 day training is designed for those who lead and manage operational Supervisors and reports to senior leadership team within a manufacturing environment. This is not limited to manufacturing managers but also applicable for other business unit managers such as production managers, service/ maintenance managers, quality managers or purchasing managers etc. It is ideal for those who are about to start in this role or who are in role but require intermediate level training to develop their capability. 


Certification: 

Upon completion of the training you will receive an attendance to Industry Forum Manufacturing Manager Training Certificate.  The course also provides an opportunity for delegates to go on and acquire a Level 4 equivalent nationally recognised qualification with a further work-based project.

This unique training programme provides delegates who have either been promoted or starting in a managerial position with comprehensive Continuous Improvement & shop floor experience required to enhancement of their leadership skills, whilst developing and nurturing their process and performance skills. 

You will gain the necessary skills, through learning and practice, to further develop and build on from the fundamental understandings of lean, continuous improvement. You will then be able undertake a lean assessment of your working environment; ensuring proficient lean practices to support achieving the business targets.

You will learn, through advanced lean tools, which tools should be deployed and what level of adherence they should be implemented to achieve the required sustainable output to satisfy the customer requirements, establishing continuous flow and maintaining flow. Coupled with leadership essentials, which allows you to understand what leadership is, the types of leadership and how to manage poor performance effectively.

The skills gained will enable you to become confident in managing teams or departments by deploying the expectations of best practice of lean tools, understanding the importance of sustainability through manufacturing planning and control, encompassing process & policy adherence, whilst underpinning leadership skills that support business strategy to enable you to clarify roles and responsibilities of the teams.
