Industry Forum

Established by Industry for Industry to practically help manufacturing companies improve, Industry Forum has developed a reputation for high quality training and support in the application of best practice. The Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) are the originators of TPM and are the awarding body for the prestigious TPM awards. In 2007 Industry Forum became the first of only six Agencies outside Japan that are appointed by JIPM to manage the development of TPM worldwide. Caution should be taken when considering organisations offering TPM services who are not JIPM appointed agencies.

Overview

This course gives an introduction to the concepts and methods that lie behind TPM. Using the tried and tested JIPM approach, delegates will learn that TPM is much more than a maintenance technique and how it can become an organisation-wide improvement programme.

Course Structure

The course combines presentations, worked examples and practical application. Using a normal everyday example, a bicycle, some basic TPM concepts and techniques are explained and Applied using our Learning by Doing approach.

This practical activity takes a progressive approach to applying TPM in a manufacturing environment. Building on the basic concepts at the heart of TPM the course gives a clear understanding of how TPM can develop into a company-wide Improvement programme.

Course Structure

The course is based around a simulated manufacturing process. This enables the practical application of the structured approaches covered during the course. The activity builds logically showing the cumulative effect of TPM which will aid application.

The course is suitable for delegates wanting to gain a detailed understanding of the concepts, structure and approach to TPM. It is aimed at those directly involved in the application of TPM.
