Practical Training Workshop (PTW)
Introduction
As organisations start to apply process improvement tools and techniques, it is essential that the management teams and support functions understand the approach themselves to be able to support its effective implementation.
These staff may not have the time or opportunity to attend a complete implementation activity. They need to have a 'hands on' learning experience in a genuine process environment to enable them to put the tools and techniques in context, not just sitting in a classroom environment being lectured.
What is a Practical Training Workshop?
Industry Forum has developed the Practical Training Workshop to provide a rapid, practical training activity to provide staff with both the knowledge and the invaluable practical experience of implementing process improvement tools.
The activity takes place over four days during which delegates will use the tools to run and improve a real manufacturing environment involving a wide variety of process types. In addition the Industry Forum Engineer will discuss the tools in the context of the delegates normal working environment to support the learning.
As they gain experience of the tools, delegates will identify how they can then apply the techniques within their own workplace, leading to the development of an implementation plan.
The Practical Training Workshop is flexible and portable. It can be run at a company's own training facility or off-site. It caters for between 5 and 12 delegates and bookings can be taken for a single company group or individual delegates from different companies.
