Lean Assessment
Introduction
Organisations that have been implementing improvement activities for some time often question whether they are implementing the tools and techniques as effectively as they should be and if their activities are achieving the maximum impact.
What is the Lean Assessment?
Industry Forum has developed the Lean Assessment to provide an objective assessment of the current level of continuous improvement within an organisation. The assessment can take place at two levels, either a 'general' assessment of the overall organisation or a 'cell' assessment for a specific area.
A single assessment takes place over 1 day as shown below. A bespoke programme can be developed combining general and cell level assessment

The outputs of the assessment are:
- An agreed picture of the current situation against a pre-defined set of elements and expectations.
- A comprehensive measurement of improvement activity sustainability and spread.
- A basis from which to develop an appropriate Continuous Process Improvement strategy.

Benefits of the Lean Assessment
- An independent, expert, objective gap analysis between the current level of Lean Implementation and 'best' practice.
- Assessment carried-out with your appointed Company representative resulting in
- an agreed judgement of the current situation
- detailed feedback on key issues and opportunities for improvement
- ownership of actions for improvement
- Guidance by the Industry Forum Engineer to develop an appropriate improvement strategy to meet the needs of your business.
