Introduction

Requirements for successfully becoming an Industry Forum Engineer

Of Graduate calibre, with experience in Production Engineering or Manufacturing Management and a belief in continuous improvement you will require commitment, drive and enthusiasm to meet this exceptional challenge.
Experience in a manufacturing environment of some volume is useful as is an appreciation of assembly processes. Whether or not you have worked in the automotive industry is not important.
We are not asking for existing in-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing such as JIT / Kaizen. You will know that you are a leader with the intelligence and interpersonal skills needed to handle the sensitivities of what could be fairly small organisations which lack some of the knowledge of the larger suppliers and OEMs.
You will need enthusiasm, energy and the desire to succeed in this role and you must have had plenty of exposure to the reality of working on the Shopfloor as well as with Team Leaders, Engineers, Managers and Directors.

Working with The Industry Forum, Jonathan Lee Recruitment has developed an in-depth recruitment process which has been proven to select the best and most successful Industry Forum Engineers.

Comprehensive Training

An essential element of the Industry Forum has been that the Engineers have all been, and will continue to be, thoroughly trained and immersed in state of the art/Japanese methodology.

You will undergo superb structured training - a mixture of office-based training, external training plus crucial, early exposure to carrying out many hard hitting 4 day diagnosis and 5 day improvement activities on-site with the guidance of the Senior Industry Forum Engineers. After 1 year of working in teams carrying out these activities, you will be paired with an Industry forum engineer at the same stage as yourself, and then 6 months later you will be able to go solo and deliver MasterClasses alone. Ongoing training from Industry Forum Senior Engineers & Senior Advisers is seen as essential, as is your learning from the varied, challenging and rewarding activities you will be performing.

Apply

We always welcome individual’s applications who have the necessary experience, drive and enthusiasm to enjoy a successful and diversified career with Industry Forum.
